Not at all! There is no difference in the print quality after the cartridge is refilled. back to top
3. Are your inks as good as the original inks?
We use premium inks that have the same chemical and physical properties as the original inks. Our inks are specially formulated for your printer. back to top
4. Are recycled cartridges inferior to a new cartridge?
Our remanufactured cartridges are not in any way inferior to new cartridges! We use the best toner and premium inks specifically designed for each individual cartridge, and replace all wearing parts in the toner cartridges. Our extensive quality and testing procedures ensure best print quality every time. back to top
5. How much time does it take you to refill my inkjet cartridge?
Typically it takes between 5 and 10 minutes. All cartridges are fully tested and the print heads ultrasonically cleaned. If for any reason the cartridge does not work properly, there is no charge. We offer you 'while you wait' service, whenever possible. back to top
6. How many times can a cartridge be refilled?
Although the amount of times a cartridge can be refilled varies from cartridge to cartridge, there are a couple of things that can be done to extend the life of your cartridge. As soon as you get a "low ink warning" or you notice any change in the quality of your print, stop printing immediately. Remove the cartridge from the printer, (Note: some printers, ie: Epson printers, tend to develop streaking and clogging quickly if the carriage is left with no cartridges in it. So consult the location nearest you to see if your printer requires a second set of cartridges prior to bringing in your set for refilling.) Store the cartridge in a zip-top bag with a moist (damp - not wet) piece of paper towel on the side of the cartridge, near but not on the print-head or ports. Use a plastic band on the outside of the bag to secure the paper tower in place ensuring the elastic does not run across the cartridge's copper circuitry. This will prevent the ink from drying in the print-head and keep the sponges from drying inside the cartridge. Using these methods, some cartridges can be refilled from 5 to 10 times. back to top
7. I've tried recycled cartridges before and they didn't work. What has changed?
The standards by which cartridges are re-manufactured will vary from company to company. ECO Cartridge Store uses only the highest quality products on the market. Some of these products have less frequent defects than the manufacturer's original equipment. Our inks are compatible and meet or exceed the original manufacturer's specifications for viscosity, contrast and type - resulting in better print quality and more printings. back to top
8. Are recycled cartridges environmentally sound?
In 1989, 40,000 tons of non-biodegradable plastics were thrown into our landfills. Every year since, that amount has grown even larger - in 2002 estimated at 78,000 tons. Every toner cartridge contains oil and is made up of approximately four pounds of non-biodegradable parts that will pollute the environment forever. Every time you use a recycled toner cartridge, you help to reduce the amount of plastic thrown into our landfills. back to top
9. How should I care for and store my cartridge when not in use?
Place in a sealed zip-lock bag with a moist towel (paper towel dampened with water). Do not cover print head with moist towel as this can cause mixing of the colors. Try not running you cartridge completely dry - this is not good for your printer or the cartridge. back to top
10. Does ECO Cartridge Store have any cartridges ready to go?
Yes, but supplies may vary. We do try to supply all the major types of compatible and re-manufactured cartridges. back to top
11. Can I have my cartridge refilled with any refill ink?
Not all cartridges use the same kind of ink. In fact, most OEM's (Original Equipment Manufacturer's) use a multiple ink-type product line. Here at ECO Cartridge Store, we work with over 100 different ink-types, and we analyze and test new ones as they come to market. Many companies who sell refill kits will tell you that one ink fits all, but an incorrect ink-type can damage or destroy your cartridge. back to top
12. How much money will I save by refilling?
On average, refilling will save you up 40% or more off the price of a new cartridge. back to top
13. Do you guarantee your product?
All our products and services are 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEED. If you are unsatisfied for any reason, we will act quickly to ensure your satisfaction. back to top
14. Why I do sometimes have to pay a core charge even though I bring in an empty refill cartridge?
Not every empty cartridge can be successfully refilled. When we receive an empty that cannot be refilled we must replace it with a refillable cartridge. The core charge covers our replacement costs. back to top
15. How can I tell if my empty cartridge can be successfully refilled?
The print stamp test is a quick and simple way to predict cartridge refill success. A good print stamp indicates an approximate 90% success rate on cartridge refills. A cartridge with a failed print stamp has less than a 50% chance of refill success.
To conduct your own print stamp, simply dip the cartridge print head in a shallow saucer of water, then gently press the print head against a dry white paper towel. If you see a clear black stripe for a black cartridge or, for color cartridges, three clear colored stripes side by side (blue, red and yellow) congratulations! You have a refillable empty ink cartridge. back to top
16. Can I still get a refilled cartridge even though I do not have a refillable empty?
If your cartridge fails the print stamp, dont despair. Even after we apply a $6.00 core charge to cover our costs for replacing the non-refillable cartridge, it is highly likely that you will still see significant savings with one of our refilled cartridges over the purchase price of a new cartridge. Alternatively, we can attempt to repair and refill your empty cartridge. This, however, is generally an overnight process with no guarantee of success. back to top
17. Is there anything I can try if I'm having trouble with a cartridge?
We are always happy to help our customers if they are having any type of issue with a cartridge. However, if you wish to try a little self-help first, here's a link that we've found to be useful. back to top
